It’s no secret that Ronda Rousey is the face of the women’s division of UFC — if not the entire promotion — but in packs of 2015 Topps UFC Champions we’re seeing a new showdown when it comes to autographs.
It’s Paige VanZant vs. Rousey for all the marbles — or at least collectors’ dollars — so far in the first few days of the product’s release.
Now, part of this battle comes with an asterisk — Rousey’s autographs are redemption cards and appear, so far, to be much rarer than VanZant, whose first autographs are found in Champions. In fact, the Rousey redemption seen above is the only one to have sold on eBay and it went for $250.
Meanwhile, VanZant’s autographs have some stiff asking prices for Buy-It-Now auctions on the site — as high as $599 for the rarer insert autographs as seen above and highs around $199 for her standard “rookie” autograph. Actual sales are what matter most, though, and VanZant’s standard card has gone for as much as $165 with a handful of other sales over $100.
Another newcomer on the autograph front is Joanna Jędrzejczyk and her autographs are also selling well, but not quite at world champion levels. The high price paid so far for her ink was $85.
The best news for collectors in all of this is that boxes of 2015 Topps UFC Champions aren’t all that expensive despite the prices being paid for the newest big autos. Boxes are presently selling for less than $100, despite packing four autographs per box.
