The Dallas Stars are off to a historic start for the franchise this season, powered by a pair of … stars whose cardboard might have room to grow.
Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn have combined for 27 points in 17 games, and, according to the NHL, the team is off to its best 17-game start in the 48-year history of the franchise. The team is 13-4-0 so far this season.
Dallas’ dynamic duo hasn’t been together that long, so they only appear on about 20 cards together. Seguin is in his third season with the team after he was traded by the Boston Bruins, while Benn is in his seventh season with the Stars, which took him in the fifth round of the 2007 draft.
So far this season Upper Deck has paired them on four memorabilia cards found in Artifacts — versions of the card seen up top. Their only autographed cards together can be found in the 2013-14 Panini Contenders product where they both shared space on three six-player auto cards featuring only Stars players.
Seguin’s Rookie Cards can be found in 2010-11 products, while Benn’s RCs can be had in brands from 2009-10.
