Who will be signing for 2015 Bowman Draft? That’s a question that’s been ongoing and Topps has been trickling out names via the BowmanCards Twitter account.
The first two signers will be Dansby Swanson and Brendan Rodgers but they’ll now be joined by a few others.
Texas’ Dillon Tate, the Cubs’ Ian Happ and Oakland’s Richie Martin were teased on Monday, while Boston’s Andrew Benintendi, the Yankees’ James Kaprielian and Tampa Bay’s Garrett Whitley were announced during the weekend. Update: Added to the list on Nov. 24 and 25 were Miami’s Josh Naylor, Houston’s Kyle Tucker, the White Sox’ Carson Fulmer, Atlanta’s Kolby Allard and Cincinnati’s Tyler Stephenson.
Swanson was the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s daft by the Diamondbacks, while Rodgers was taken by the Rockies with the third pick. The Arizona shortstop starred at Vanderbilt before hitting .289 in 22 games as a pro this season, while Colorado’s shortstop hit .273 in his first 37 games as a pro.
Tate went fourth overall out of UC-Santa Barbara, while Happ went ninth out of Cincinnati and Martin was the 20th pick from Florida. Benintendi went seventh out of Arkansas, while Kaprielian was 16th out of UCLA and Whitley was 13th out of Niskayuna (N.Y.) High School.
They will have their first on-card Chrome autos in the brand, which will arrive redemption-free on Dec. 9.
