If you’ve missed Cole Beasley on the football field, it’s not that big of a deal — it’s easy to miss the Dallas Cowboys’ 5-foot-8 wide receiver.
Besides, we all know he’s small and powerful when it comes to selling Tide PODS — go ahead, watch the commercial above. It’s been viewed more than 5.6 million times. (We won’t tell if you haven’t seen it.)
You know where else Beasley is small and powerful? You know, where he’s a bit of a short-print?
On football cards.
How many Rookie Cards does Beasley have? Just this one from 2014 Panini National Treasures — a card limited to 99 serial-numbered copies from a pricey high-end box where there are very few base cards even included inside.
Its short supply has helped spark interest — more than you might think for a guy who was signed un-drafted back in 2012 and has six starts in four years. It’s sold for more than $50, while some even rarer parallel versions of the card have commanded Dez-ish money. Ok, maybe not that much — but more than you might think for a guy you might know best from a commercial.
In all, Beasley appears on just over 50 different football cards — most of them actually coming from this new season of cards and most of them from Panini America. What’s next for Beasley cards? Well, he joined some big-name teammates on his first memorabilia cards in National Treasures last season but has yet to sign a certified autograph card.
What might one with a “Small but powerful” inscription sell for?
