Five lots in a sale via SCP Auctions that close on Saturday are unique in a few ways.
First, they are all items from Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Second, for each of them a part of the proceeds will go to his foundation that supports K-9 units and service dogs of police and fire departments throughout the U.S.
What are the items? Well, they’re all game-used for starters.
The most-watched items so far is a jersey he wore against the Cleveland Browns on Dec. 28, 2008 — a contest where he was knocked out of the game and the jersey had to be cut off him as trainers believed he might have had a neck injury. That signed jersey already has nine bids and sits at $3,218.
Also up for grabs is an ensemble of uniform pieces from a game on Oct. 24, 2014 — a game where he had 522 passing yards and six touchdowns. It can be seen above and at $2,662 after four bids. All items in the group are autographed.
The final three lots are all game-used clears from contests in 2013 and 2014 and presently range from $807 to $1,774 with plenty of time remaining before close this weekend. Click here to for more details on them all and see them in a gallery below.
