If you haven’t felt the awakening yet, you will by Friday.
That’s the day that Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrives and that’s also the day that the galaxy right here right now gets a new set of Star Wars cards — one that includes full scenes from the film and the most-important thing of them all.
Autographs from the new faces of the franchise. (If you thought Star Wars was a force on cardboard before, you haven’t seen anything yet. Guaranteed.)
In fact, Friday’s release of 2015 Topps Star Wars: The Force Awakens is merely a first series of cards. In fact, it won’t even be the only Star Wars set of the week …
Also set to arrive on Friday is 2015 Topps Star Wars High Tek, which hits with the dynamic look of the cards in MLB and the NFL applied to the entire Star Wars universe. Collectors can look for an autogragh or a sketch card in every pack there.
The release calendar is jam-packed with more than a dozen releases from the sports world, some of which were scheduled to arrive last week. The slate includes 2014-15 Panini Eminence — a brand that will include pieces of silver, gold and platinum embedded into cards along with on-card autographs of the NBA’s top players. It’s the priciest release in Panini America history and every card will be numbered to no more than 10 copies.
For football fans there are three releases — Panini Crown Royale, Topps Chrome Mini and Topps Platinum — while baseball collectors have the high-end Topps Dynasty and Topps Tribute Special Edition, Leaf 25th and the Super Jumbo boxes of Bowman Draft that arrived last week.
