Russell Wilson, Doug Baldwin & A.J. McCarron among NFL’s most Buzz-worthy players in Week 14

Wilson
Russell Wilson
may be a tad overlooked with the perfect season and MVP campaign of Cam Newton under way, but the Seattle Seahawks QB has been hard to miss in the last four weeks.

On Sunday, he threw for 292 yards and five touchdowns. In the last month? Well, he’s now got 16 touchdowns and zero picks. That suddenly makes his season look a lot better with 3,289 yards and 26 TDs and seven picks. Ultimately, we all know about the prowess of his 2012 Rookie Cards but there are likely to be more casual collectors looking his way with another strong week.

Buzz would expect movement — if not in price, certainly volume — on his cheapest RCs. (Buzz would expect some action on his autos but still has a tough time calling that an autograph.)

Keep reading for four more guys who generated some buzz on the field this week.

Crowell— Isaiah Crowell This RB has been one of few bright spots for the Browns this season and, admittedly, they haven’t been bright often. On Sunday, though, he topped all NFL backs with 145 rushing yards and scored a pair of touchdowns. His Rookie Cards appear in last season’s releases when he was fresh out of Alabama State. (For trivia buffs he was a Georgia Bulldog who ran for 850 yards and five touchdowns in 2011.)

Baldwin— Doug Baldwin Another week, another multi-touchdown game for the Seahawks WR. Against the Ravens he had just six catches for 83 yards but three of them ended in the end zone. In the last three weeks, he has eight touchdowns. That certainly won’t hurt interest in his 2011 Rookie Cards at all.

McCarron— A.J. McCarron This former Alabama Crimson Tide QB has waited to get playing time as a Bengal but it came in bulk Sunday when Andy Dalton was sidelined with a fractured thumb and may be out for the year. He inherited one of the better offenses in the league and threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns (and two picks) in a loss to the Steelers. (He entered the game with four pass attempts for his career.) His Rookie Cards from last season aren’t dirt cheap because of Tide faithful, but they are close. There could be some bargains to be had here if he sparks the team.

Ginn— Ted Ginn Jr. Remember when this former Ohio State WR was supposed to be a superstar when he was a rookie way back in 2007 and the ninth-overall pick in the draft? He looked like it on Sunday with just two catches for 120 yards and two touchdowns to help the Carolina Panthers continue their perfect season. This season hasn’t been too shabby for Ginn as he has career-highs in touchdowns with eight and other new marks possible before season’s end.
