We’re less than two days away from the arrival of The Force Awakens and the newest Star Wars card set from Topps — and both have carry plenty of mystery.
Why? We don’t have a checklist yet because even it could contain potential spoilers.
The checklist for 2015 Topps Star Wars: The Force Awakens Series 1 is coming as early as tomorrow and it’s likely to include the first autographs of the new generation of Star Wars stars — the likes of Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver, who haven’t had certified autographs before.
And that got Buzz thinking about the possibilities.
Will they be tough to pull? Will they even sign? At this point, only Topps knows — but think of this as the launching point for a new generation of a film franchise that’s shown itself to be the one of the biggest deals in a long time — if not ever.
And it’s not even officially hit theaters yet.
Buzz doesn’t think it’s a stretch to think that they’ll be available signatures for now — after all, they were previously unknown actors. However, they’ll never be unknown again and the demands for their autographs will never perhaps be stronger than right here right now during the unleashing of a behemoth. Or, perhaps the demand will grow from here — everything with Star Wars always seems to get bigger and bigger, and bigger …
If it’s anything close to rare, Buzz expects Ridley’s first autographs to top $1,000. Even if it’s not a tough auto, it should push that mark — at least initially. There will be that much demand from card collectors, Star Wars fans and probably casual collectors captivated by the force that is the greatest science fiction franchise in history.
