Do you scratch them or do you save them?
World Wrestling Entertainment‘s premiere event is set for April 3 in Dallas and as part of the promotion for WrestleMania 32 the company has joined forces with the Texas Lottery to create a set of five $2 scratch-off tickets.
Each of the tickets features five WWE Superstars or Divas — most of whom should be on the show when it comes to JerryWorld. If they’re not there, they’ll be involved with the peripheral events, which include the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony, an NXT Takeover show, WWE Axxess (the WWE’s interactive exhibit show) and a Raw taping the Monday night after Mania.
The tickets are a simple number-matching structure with a top prize being $25,000 — though second-chance drawing contests include VIP trips to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, VIP experiences for WrestleMania weekend and expensive WWE championship replicas.
Are these collectable in any way? Well, most will be scratched and discarded but they are definitely card-like — and the perforated edges would be challenges if they were to be graded. They’ll also be available only for a limited time in Texas.
The odds of winning are one in every 4.43 tickets and the odds of winning a top prize instantly is one in 900,000 tickets. .
Among the stars shown on the tickets are Bray Wyatt, Paige, John Cena, Big E, Sheamus, Dean Ambrose, Kofi Kingston, Undertaker, Ryback, Sasha Banks, The Bella Twins, Seth Rollins, The Lucha Dragons, Randy Orton, Dolph Ziggler, Roman Reigns, Alicia Fox, Big Show, Charlotte, Rusev, Brock Lesnar, Titus O’Neil and Darren Young.
Are they collectable? Well at least one eBay seller has tested the market on an unscratched set of tickets — and seems to have won.
