Box basics: One autographs, one Relic and one manufactured Relic in every 24-pack hobby box

What’s buzz-worthy: The latest batch of future Olympians arrives on cardboard in advance of the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in August. As with past Olympic releases, there are plenty of first-time signers who can become overnight sensations and sell very, very well once the Olympics arrive.

The 100-card base set will have notable Olympians and each will have Bronze, Silver, Gold and Gold Rainbow 1/1 parallels. … Autographs will be found for upwards of 40 stars each with the same rainbow of parallels as the base cards, while U.S. Olympic Champion Autographs will focus on 10 past dominating performers who already have medals. Those Hobby-only cards will have Red, Gold and 1/1 versions for collectors to chase. … A selection of 1/1 cut autographs will enhance this one along with signed Relics will exist for 20 athletes and will have the same parallels as the other cards.

Standard Relics will showcase as many as 50 stars with the same rainbow. … Manufactured Relics will be found in four formats — Team Patches, Flag Patches, Team Crest Patches and Medals — each with parallels. … Three insert sets will focus on disciplines, memorable moments and the always-colorful closing ceremonies. These will be found between six per box (disciplines) and just one per box (ceremonies). … A preliminary checklist was not released.
