Mark Hamill may need to chime in on this one.
No, it’s not an autograph for the actor to authenticate — it’s a prop DL-44 heavy blaster pistol of Luke Skywalker’s from The Empire Strikes Back and it’s up for auction with a $200,000 opening bid.
The non-operating prop is being sold by Nate D. Sanders Auctions and was last sold by Sotheby’s back in 1998.
How did it make it into the open market? According to the auctioneer, it was gifted to the original owner by Hamill during an episode of Jim’ll Fix It — a children’s show on BBC.
The piece of crafted fiberglass has been repaired from damage suffered through the years and with slightly more than two days remaining in the auction it has not received a bid.
