What’s Buzz-worthy: The hobby’s longest-running MLB brand returns for its 65th anniversary with a heavy array of insert cards, high-end hits at long odds, buyback cards and plenty of potential. The non-traditional design is one that perhaps looks better in-person than on-screen with the design really one that makes the parallels shine. The cards also seem sturdier and glossier than last year’s colorful release. There’s plenty of history and plenty of modern-day highlights in this one, too. Overall, it looks like there’s plenty in this one that a collector can have fun with — First Pitch celebrity cards, the 100 Years of Wrigley and Pressed Into Service and Perspectives. Buzz’s box seemed a bit dry on bigger names in the base set and inserts but there’s plenty of potential in 2016 Topps. There should be even more to look forward to in Series 2.
