What’s buzz-worthy: Panini takes the stars of the pitch to its highest of high-end levels — at least so far — with the debut of Flawless, which will include “a wide assortment of the world’s best footballers of the past and present with all players shown in action for either their club team and/or their national team.”

The Basics: The base set will be the gems in the product, which will have all cards limited to no more than 25 copies. Diamonds are the basic version of the gems with Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and larger Diamond parallels possible. … The memorabilia cards will all be game-used with pieces coming directly from the players. Among the items will be gloves, shinguards, jerseys, shorts, socks and cleats. … Studs memorabilia cards will have pieces of cleats and be limited to 10 or fewer copies with a 1/1 Black parallel. … Flawless Finishes will spotlight memorable goals from past greats, while Sole of the Game will be a second cleat card that carries an autograph, too. … For autograph fans there also will be Dual Patch Autos and Legendary Signatures as well as Momentous Autographs Memorabilia and International Icons, while Tools of the Trade will be the main memorabilia insert.
Signers in this one will include Pele, Lionel Messi, Mesut Özil, Dani Alves, Gianluigi Buffon, Steven Gerrard, Tim Howard, Cristiano Ronaldo, Joe Hart, Luis Suárez Sir Bobby Charlton, Franz Beckenbauer, Roberto Baggio, Carlos Valderrama, Andrea Pirlo, Frank Lampard, Robin van Persie and Xavi Hernández to name a few.
