As the Black Mamba prepares for his final game, Panini America is offering a timely tribute.
The “Zircus” — a zoo and a circus — happens on Wednesday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles as Kobe Bryant plays his final NBA game, and that’s the same day that a “HeroVillain” boxed set will begin shipping.
The box includes two 21-card sets — one highlighting his memorable moments and highlights and one revisiting those times in his own words. Also inside the set is a five-card pack filled with parallels and the possibility of autographed cards.
The sets are $50 and only initially available via iCollectPanini.com.
In 20 seasons, Bryant has scored more than 33,500 points — third on the all-time list behind only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone — and garnered countless honors that include 18 All-Star nods, seven MVPs between All-Star, Finals and season MVP and five NBA championships. He’s been one of the most-collected players of the last two decades and a Panini America spokesman since 2009.
