Four high-grade 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth cards sold for a total of more than $500,000 Thursday night as part of a Heritage Auctions sale.
Each had a PSA 8 NM-MT grade.
Card No. 53 was the top card at $191,200, while No. 149 went for $155,350. Card No. 181 went for $83,650, while the runt of the litter was No. 144 at $71,700.
Those were not the only high-dollar Goudeys to be sold, either, as an uncut sheet of 24 cards went for $95,600, a PSA 8 Nap Lajoie went for $119,500, a PSA 8.5 Lou Gehrig went for $89,625 and a second Gehrig at a PSA 8 went or $53,775.
In all there were four other cards to top the $10,000 mark, while 29 others topped $2,000 in the sale.
