One of the biggest moments of the Chicago Cubs’ season will hopefully make a big impact for the team’s charities.
How?
A number of game-used items from Jake Arrieta‘s no-hitter on April 21 are currently on the auction block via MLB.com to benefit Cubs Charities.
Arrieta’s jersey is not among the 23 items up for grabs from the Cubs (there are two more counting auctions from the Reds — a locker nameplate and chair) but jerseys from the team’s high-profile young stars are in the mix — Kris Bryant, Addison Russell, Anthony Rizzo — as well as jerseys, baseballs and even a couple of bats used in the game.
Bryant’s jersey is leading the way at $5,565 after eight bids in the auctions, which opened on Sunday night and close in six days. Bidding on the bases opens at $300, while baseballs open at $95.
