Chicago Cubs auction Jake Arrieta no-hitter gamers to benefit charities

BryantOne of the biggest moments of the Chicago Cubs’ season will hopefully make a big impact for the team’s charities.

How?

A number of game-used items from Jake Arrieta‘s no-hitter on April 21 are currently on the auction block via MLB.com to benefit Cubs Charities.

img-1221496-mArrieta’s jersey is not among the 23 items up for grabs from the Cubs (there are two more counting auctions from the Reds — a locker nameplate and chair) but jerseys from the team’s high-profile young stars are in the mix — Kris Bryant, Addison Russell, Anthony Rizzo — as well as jerseys, baseballs and even a couple of bats used in the game.

Bryant’s jersey is leading the way at $5,565 after eight bids in the auctions, which opened on Sunday night and close in six days. Bidding on the bases opens at $300, while baseballs open at $95.
