The No. 88 Chevy of Dale Earnhardt Jr. will carry a special paint scheme for one race in July and the sales of its diecast replicas from Lionel Racing will help collectors help a good cause.
And maybe a young fan or two.
NASCAR’s most-popular driver will pilot the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Chevy SS during the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway on July 9 in support of America’s largest pediatric hospital and research center.
That car’s hood will show the names of donors who contributed to the hospital, and its Action Racing Collectables diecasts will have plenty of details. But there’s one thing you won’t know if you pop the hood of the smaller Chevy — a portion of the proceeds from each one sold will be donated to the hospital.
There are three types of diecasts for this Earnhardt ride — a 1:64 for $7.99 (suggested retail prices), a 1:24 for $69.99 and a 1:24 Elite model for $104.95. Click here for more details.
