What’s buzz-worthy: NASCAR trading cards are back for the first time since 2014 with the first of four Panini America releases this year — and this one starts off with a dazzling array of inserts and a Prizm rainbow perfect for auto racing.

The Basics: Each 80-card box will include 10 Prizm inserts, one Green Prizm (/149), two Prizms limited to no more than 99 copies along with the following inserts — two Winner’s Circle, one Winner’s Circle Prizm, two Competitors, one Competitors Prizm and three other inserts. … Each base card will have nine parallels and all but one is limited to no more than 149 copies. … Every case will include an autograph from Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick or Danica Patrick. … Among the autographs will be Patented Penmanship with eight parallels limited to no more than 99 copies, while Driver Signatures will have the same number of versions with a Black parallel limited to a rather fitting number, three. … For memorabilia, there will be Race Used and Firesuit Fabrics. … Retired legends such as Dale Earnhardt and Darrell Waltrip will be found on short-printed variation cards in the base set, while insert cards like Winner’s Circle will highlight all of the winners from last season. … A preliminary checklist was not released. … Some of the other parallel types include White Flag and Checkered Flag. … There will be retail blaster boxes for this brand — click here for those details. Among the teams licensed in this one (at least with visible logos on sales materials) include Hendrick Motorsports, Stewart-Haas Racing, Team Penske and Joe Gibbs Racing. There will, of course, be others in the mix, too.
