What’s Buzz-worthy: This is by far not the standard kind of box for Goodwin Champions at the retail aisle as autographs are found one in every 480 packs — or one in every 40 boxes. On the plus side, this one was a discount find at retail for just $12.99. On the minus side, that’s a gash of cardboard missing on the left edge of the autograph and a spot on the bottom right of the card signed by a Hall of Fame jockey. … The name power in this one is strong with many of the A-listers you’d expect along with some memorably weird ones, too. The images can be quite interesting in this one, though there are times when the paintings aren’t the strongest likenesses (proof the artists aren’t just tracing over photos in some instances). Hobby boxes of this one guarantee an autograph — and more — so that’s the best way to go, but this box is proof that there are autographs to be found at retail.
