Upper Deck has remembered the late co-founder of the National Sports Collectors Convention with a memorabilia card that will be in limited supply at the upcoming show on Aug. 3-7 in Atlantic City, N.J.
It’s a Piece of History memorabilia card for Mike Berkus, who lost a brief cancer battle in November. He was 69.
“Mike was always known for being sharply dressed during the National and was easily recognizable by the blazers he wore,” reads a statement from the company. “The Berkus family donated two blazers that Mike wore at the National in previous years and Upper Deck set off to work to make a special tribute card in his honor.”
The company created an oversized version of the card and presented it to his son, Dan, and wife, Sher.
The cards will be shared with family friends but will also be distributed in small quantities at the show.
