What’s Buzz-worthy: Although Clear Vision comes with six packs inside each box, it’s really better to think of the box as a pack because it’s a small rip that feels like it could be a jumbo pack since you ultimately have a very small stack of acetate cards and a single hit when you’re done. That’s not a bad thing — it’s just different. This year’s edition has just two autographs in every nine-box mini case, which means it’s not as much about ink as it is creative cardboard with memorabilia and acetate. Lots and lots of acetate. There weren’t any short-prints in this box, but the name power was there with a good mix of numbered cards and a creative memorabilia card of a promising second-year player who was a college powerhouse’s star. All in all, this collector was a bit skeptical of this rip going in (Buzz had seen breaks in past years but never bought) but wasn’t disappointed. This box shows how, if you get the right players on some of these rarer parallels, some boxes of Clear Vision could be quite good. This also feels like a brand that, while its few cards per box creates a challenge, is one that could be collected (via the singles route) without breaking the bank.
