This year’s Pro Football Hall of Fame class has taken its place in Canton, Ohio, and the legends have found their new homes.
It’s not just in the museum — it’s on new Panini America cardboard.
The NFL’s official football card licensee was on hand in Canton and made a pair of promotional sets for the new class of legends as well as cards for the Hall of Fame Game that was cancelled.
Panini was on hand for the celebration of a class that includes Edward DeBartolo Jr., Tony Dungy, Brett Favre, Kevin Greene, Marvin Harrison, Orlando Pace, Ken Stabler and Dick Stanfel.
Each of them is now found as part of a nine-card (including a header/coupon) set that was made for the festivities and were available at the Panini booth. It was released in a clear cello pack for those seeking the full set, and it’s sold for as much as $19.99 on eBay, though Favre has sold pretty well on his own.
That wasn’t the only cardboard made for the weekend: Those who attended the Panini VIP Party that night also could find a 5-by-7 jumbo card of Favre on a 2016 Donruss design on the party floor. It was similar to his card found along with other 5-by-7s made for the Hall of Fame Game that was never played. That lineup included Favre, Harrison, Andrew Luck and Aaron Rodgers. The Favre card has sold for as much as $15 on eBay.
