What’s Buzz-worthy: The sixth year of Pro Line football cards has far fewer inserts per box than its predecessor, zero parallels but nearly 150 different autograph cards — all signed on-card. This box was a bummer with some packs including cards stuck together to the point of torn paper (above) but thankfully not all packs were that way. The autograph cards are not glossed on their fronts so the fronts of cards won’t be damaged if they happen to be in a compressed/heated pack. This box included a respectable auto of a rookie who did have a decent (but not massive) amount of certified ink during his career. … Among the autos that could have been in this box? Drew Bledsoe, Tim Brown, Jack Del Rio, Marshall Faulk, Keyshawn Johnson, Ed McCaffrey, Troy Aikman & Emmitt Smith (same card), Jim Plunkett, Ron Jaworski, Emmit Smith, Randy White and Steve Young. It’s not as deep as previous releases and it’s also one that divides ink into Gold and Blue foil sets. (The Gold is rarer and more loaded.) … These boxes are not really that easy to find with an autograph guaranteed in every one. (There are none of this type presently on eBay.) That fact made the $19 price on this box worth the gloss-sticking risk to this collector.
