The feel of 1991 Pro Line is back in packs of 2016 Panini Absolute football cards — but with a modern-day twist.
This time, the NFL gear seen in players’ portraits on the cards is inside the cards as memorabilia swatches.
A set of 13 NFL Lifestyle Materials cards featuring Eric Decker and Rod Woodson are found as bonus cards in both hobby and retail packs. And just as Buzz was working this one up after an eBay discovery of one card, Panini offered even more info about the program.
“The objective of the NFL’s Men’s Lifestyle campaign is to strengthen and grow our relationship with the League’s male fan base, and continue to coach them on how to style NFL apparel for all occasions,” said Bernie Gutierrez of NFL Consumer Products via Panini. “This campaign provides our athlete ambassadors the opportunity to be viewed beyond football players to fashion influencers.”
According to Panini, the cards are found one in every two cases for hobby boxes and Super Bowl MVP Von Miller will also be part of the program with his cards coming later this season.
