What’s Buzz-worthy: Bowman Platinum returns after a year off as a retail-only (Walmart-only at least at first) exclusive that’s got plenty of potential and a better look and feel than its predecessor. These 20-pack boxes guarantee two autographs inside and a heavier assortment of inserts than blaster boxes. … The base set has a strong look with simple touches to add to its appeal with card backs that are clean and sharp. The insert lineup isn’t the most-exciting (the cards look pretty similar to the base cards) but that’s where some big names are found. … This box over-delivered with the Orange Olivera (1:1,004 packs) but was a bummer because it’s him and he’s out of baseball. The Orange auto made up for it if this box went to a Braves fan. … If you’re a prospect-leaning collector, this one will probably pull you in. If you’re just a general collector, there are some nice touches that make it worth a look.
