More than 2 million cards from past Topps releases will be inserted into packs of baseball cards in 2017 as part of a massive buyback program.
It’s the 2017 Topps Rediscover Ultimate Card Giveaway.
The company revealed the buyback program on Friday, noting that cards will be found in the following products:
— 2017 Topps Series 1
— 2017 Topps Heritage
— 2017 Bowman
— 2017 Topps Series 2
— 2017 Topps Allen and Ginter
— 2017 Topps Update
According to the company, “all but the most valuable cards will be stamped with a new foil Rediscover logo so consumers can identify them” and they’ll be found roughly one in every six packs as a bonus card. Another rare inclusion will be a redemption to pick your choice of a Topps Now card as well as code cards for the Topps Bunt app. Additional cards will unlock prizes via the Topps website.
There will be television ads to back the program and help entice non-regular collectors into picking up a pack.
