It’s a simple piece of memorabilia, but it’s one that’s part of a collection lasting more than 60 years.
It’s the cover of Sports Illustrated and Arnold Palmer graces the cover of the latest issue.
Palmer died Sunday at age 87 with a rich legacy in the golf and business worlds but not an immense amount of trading cards since the market for PGA cardboard didn’t take off until recent decades.
Palmer has appeared on the cover of the long-running magazine a number of times, but none really in recent years. A sampling of his past covers can be seen below.
