What’s Buzz-worthy: Topps Heritage is often a plus in this collector’s mind, but the design of MLB in 1967 doesn’t easily translate down to the farm all that easily as Topps had to use the full team names of MiLB’s franchises. That throws it off quite a bit. Also different from 1967 here is that there are no facsimile autos (which is actually a plus since this appears to be a good TTM auto product). Overall, though, this is still a Heritage take on minor league baseball and it works — just not as perfectly as it could. The box has fewer packs, which makes it more affordable, and the set isn’t huge. You get a decent amount of rarer numbered parallels in a box and you get a small selection of variations with big names that could make your breaks stronger values. (No variations here other than short-prints.) This box really over-delivered on the autograph with an impressive player and a rare (one in 361) parallel along with a coin Relic (one in 93). This isn’t a flashy brand but it can deliver well if you get the right names — and there are some big-leaguer autos in here, too. Minor league cards aren’t for everyone but there is plenty here that could draw in anyone who’s a collector.
