What’s Buzz-worthy: Tek is clearly its own animal with a number of different patterns of varying scarcity and availability — so much so that deciphering what’s inside a pack is either a burden or an amusement. Depending which camp you’re in might dictate whether this one’s for you. Described at its simplest, you’ll find an autograph, a parallel and then maybe some inserts and some variation patterns. A more complicated description is one you won’t find here because Tek gave Buzz a headache. (Remember the old Bowman Scout paper put into boxes that gave you a rundown of the players via a sentence? A simple pattern guide would be handy in a box. There can still be plenty of mystery if names card patterns are given.) Overall, these boxes are falling down to more affordable range, which makes these more attainable for many, and that’s a plus. Another plus in this box was the 1966 reprint — an interesting take on reprints — and they can be rare. If you like the look of these cards — and they can impress more in-person than in scans — and like acetate with a modern look, some parallels and a chase, then Tek is for you.
