What’s Buzz-worthy: This high-end box was ahead of its time as an ultra high-end release with just two hits inside when it originally arrived almost a decade ago. It’s more affordable now but the results may not be as impressive depending on who you get inside. This one had some star power for the basic cards but didn’t deliver as much oomph as this collector had hoped with the memorabilia and auto — though the Reynolds /25 at the time would have done pretty well. (He’s had more cards made since.) Buzz didn’t buy any of these boxes back then but opted to try one since the price is a bit lower now and because some of those elite names are still in there. … Autos that could be in here? They include Quentin Tarantino, Christina Applegate, Ashley Judd, John Travolta, Barbara Bush, Leonard Nimoy, Reynolds, Carrie Fisher, Willie Mays, George H.W. Bush and Willie Nelson to name a few. On the memorabilia side, there are plenty of big names, too, including Audrey Hepburn, Knute Rockne, James Dean, Lou Gehrig, John Wayne and Marilyn Monroe — along with most of those who signed. … This would be a fun one to rip by the case (15 boxes) and that’s in part because a number of the singles may not be all that easy to find now after all these years. If you like non-sports, this one’s worth a try.
