What’s Buzz-worthy: Buzz found this box in the discount bin at a big-box store for $12 — down from its original $20 price — which was appealing enough considering there were three autographs found inside. At a discounted price, it’s worth a rip if you’re a football collector who wants to hunt ink that you probably won’t find elsewhere — and if you get lucky you might find an auto of Jared Goff, Dak Prescott and Paxton Lynch along with a few others. Then, you’ll also find guys that just don’t have ink elsewhere. The autos carry by far the best design in the product, though it doesn’t hurt if you get an Ezekiel Elliott Premium Portrait like this box had. At the beginning of the season, there would have been some added demand for the Elliott — and there still could be with the Rookie of the Year in the bag and MVP chatter in the mix. The base set here isn’t poorly done, but it’s very simple — and the limitations of licensing and photography are tough to fight no matter what. The number of dupes and even a triplicate weren’t a plus, either, with the set being as small as it is. A fan of the college game should be able to find pluses here — and it’s not bad when it’s at a discounted price, either.
