What’s Buzz-worthy: This was the first TNA set from TRISTAR that launched a six-year run of making cards for the most-notable non-WWE wrestling promotion in the United States at that time. Many of the stars found in this one have made their way into WWE in the year since this release and the set includes, for example, a “Rookie Card” for Consequences Creed, who’s now known as Xavier Woods. Another notable here? A “Rookie Card” for Shop-At-Home legend Don West. … You can find autographs from many of the company’s roster here — some big names and many not — one per box and with these boxes found under $5 with some hunting they can be fun to shred. (You won’t make big bucks on these but they’re drying up all these years later.) … There were crisper releases in TRISTAR’s TNA run but there are a number of base cards with strong photos here as well as a fun mix of inserts that spotlight things like wrestlers’ notable tattoos and looks back into their histories before TNA. … Some of the signers in this one include A.J. Styles, Booker T, The Dudleys (using their TNA names), Christian, Christy Hemme, Kevin Nash, Kurt Angle, Robert Roode, Samoa Joe and, most notably, Sting. In theory, all of them could be found in here so that can make for an interesting rip at the price.
