What’s Buzz-worthy: Buzz picked up this box for roughly $9 — less than half of its original price — and it was one that, while it guaranteed a hit, ultimately just felt flat. The brand itself is one that includes some impressive cardboard — ink, autographs, booklets, multi-piece memorabilia cards for starters — along with a small base set that has a few inserts. Just one pack of five cards just isn’t enough to really chew on here from a brand where the hobby box includes five packs each with a hit and more. I guess for the price this wasn’t bad vs. hobby (its price is in link above and is slightly higher per pack) but this one was a reminder that hobby is the stronger box for this brand. There’s potential in these cheap retail packs but the odds are probably longer and it’s safer to just buy by the sealed hobby box. Harvick and Allison are really the only names of note here. Over time, these boxes could/should be $5 rips if they don’t dry up.
