What’s buzz-worthy: We’ve got early word on some of the retail inclusions to come in Panini America’s Optichromed version of its Donruss basketball set. There will be exclusives found only in certain pack types for both inserts, Holo parallels and autographed cards on the retail front. Update: We have added the full hobby information.

The Basics: We’ll have more hobby details once this one is formally unveiled, but here’s what we know know for the retail front beyond there being 50 rookies in the basic set. There will be three retail-exclusive inserts in this one — Court Kings, Rookie Kings and Hall Kings. Each will have Holo parallels as well as Purple Holo, Blue Holo (/49) and 1/1 Blacks found in all retail pack formats. … In all boxes there will be retail-only Rookie Signatures and Signature Series autograph cards that will have 1/1 Black Holo parallels, too. … There will be 24-pack boxes along with 15-card Fat Packs that will have three Checkerboard parallels found only in the Fatties. These packs will come 12 packs per box. … Blaster boxes will have six four-card packs with Red parallels limited to only 99 copies as well as blaster-only Blue (/25) Signature Series and Rookie Signatures autos. The retail-only inserts also will have Red (/99) and Gold (/10) parallels only found in blaster boxes. … Hanger boxes will have exclusive Pink parallels limited to only 25 copies with Pink autographs and Orange Holo cards (/99). Gravity boxes will have Green Holo autos limited to just five copies for both the inserts and the autographs.
Update: On the hobby side there will be Dominators autographs for Hall of Famers, Rookies and today’s stars with Gold (/10) and 1/1 Gold Vinyl parallels. … Inserts will include The Champ is Here, Elite Series and All-Stars with Holo, Red (/99), Blue (/49), Gold (/10), Green (/5) and 1/1 Gold Vinyl parallels. … Dominators also will be found without ink and the Hall version will include 30 Hall of Famers. … Among the signers in this one will be Karl-Anthony Towns, Kristaps Porzingis, Jason Kidd and Allen Iverson to name a few. … Hobby boxes will include 20 inserts or parallels with a suggested retail price of $80.
