What’s Buzz-worthy: The first regular-issue golf set in the modern era of cards stood as one of only a handful of releases until Upper Deck took to the links 20 years after this one thanks to the dominance of Tiger Woods. Because this was the first traditional release, 60 of the 66 cards in the set are considered to be Rookie Cards. All of the cards in this pack were RCs and it included the best card in the set, Jack Nickaus, along with a couple of other notables. As you can see centering is a serious issue on this one along with the rough cuts and loose wrapper that can lead to corner issues all these years — 36 — later. Check a site such as COMC.com and you’ll see hefty asking prices on high-grade cards and then pocket change on many raw ones. At $4 a pack, it’s kind of a fun old rip that won’t break the bank to build a small set.
