One of pro wrestling’s biggest names of the 1990s and beyond will be signing autographs at this year’s National Sports Collectors Convention.
It’s Bill Goldberg.
The WWE star — and also a former University of Georgia football star and former Atlanta Falcon — was revealed as one of the newest signers for this summer’s showcase show set for July 26-30 in Chicago.
Goldberg just completed a run with WWE gold, losing to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 on Sunday. He won the belt earlier this year after making his return after 12 years away from WWE last year — a move that won him “Comeback of the Year” honors from Pro Wrestling Illustrated. The 50-year-old won the WCW world heavyweight championship, its U.S. championship and even its tag titles during his original run before moving to WWE for two years in 2003.
When it comes to cardboard and autographs, he has a small amount of ink to be had — fewer than 30 different cards and more on the way soon from Topps. His 1999 Topps WCW/nW0 auto is the earliest and arguably the most valuable while he also has autos in the 2014 Leaf Originals and 2016 Leaf Signature Series releases. That’s it for now but he was teased for the WWE Legends release coming later this year that was teased on Monday.
