If you’re a certain age, you may remember Little Golden Books, which are beginning readers’ first licks at the literary world.
They’ve been around since the 1940s — and are still around today — but one illustrator has created a new take on these stories with a series of prints and a book that collects his past works all in one.
His name is Joey Spiotto and the Los Angeles-based artist is big on Storytime.
His third series of Storytime prints made its debut in a show Friday night at Gallery1988 in Los Angeles and a number of them are available now via the gallery’s website.
These 8-by-10 prints are limited to only 35 signed and numbered giclee prints. They’re $35, while framed prints also are available for $40 more.
Iconic films and characters from the worlds of video games, pop culture and beyond are found here with a few real-world nods as well. His book, Storytime, is a hardcover collection and it’s $40. It contains a number of classics from past prints that aren’t part of this new collection. Among cool prints there? Guns N’ Roses, Anchorman, Aliens, Back To The Future, Breaking Bad, Deadpool. Die hard, Django Unchained, Kill Bill, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, The Big Lebowski, Pulp Fiction, Star Wars and so many more.
Among those in this series are A League of Their Own, Chucky from Child’s Play, Logan, The Walking Dead and so many more. You can see all of the new prints below and get more info on them by visiting Gallery1988 right here.
