Buzz Break: 2017 Topps WWE wrestling cards (hobby box)

What’s Buzz-worthy: The first series of the 2017 Topps WWE set is here with a number of cardboard newcomers via referees, NXT stars and labeled Rookie Cards of stars who are new to the top WWE ranks. Also new here are cards of a few WWE Legends who have never had cards before along with some of the biggest ink possible. This particular box over-delivered with a rarer parallel auto (1:116 packs), a Blue parallel (1:73) and included a full set. It also included a good chunk of the three WWE Network inserts. Other than this particular Blue (its photo had a white background), the parallels aren’t all that easy to spot. This one also felt like it needed a few more inserts to help mix up the variety in the box — about the only drawback — but the basic set is loaded with new names. If Rookie Cards were a bigger deal for WWE fans, this one would be stacked in that regard. The big ink — Undertaker and Goldberg — will be fueling the demand for this wax but there are enough other inclusions that could help fans rip into wax here pretty hard. It should be interesting to compare retail odds vs. hobby odds, too — and Buzz will add those when in hand.
