If you’re a fan of A League of Their Own or a collector of baseball movie memorabilia, you may need to head to a Walmart.
That’s where you can find a recently released exclusive 25th anniversary Blu-ray/DVD package of the popular Penny Marshall film and it includes baseball cards as well as other extras.
Found inside the sealed box — you’ll have to cut it open — are three A League of Their Own baseball cards, a patch, a pair of vinyl stickers and a luggage tag all relating to the film along with a 12-page booklet titled The History of Women’s Baseball. Landing mint-condition (gradeable) cards will be tough as all of the contents are loosely packed inside the box bouncing around.
The cards feature the three biggest stars — Tom Hanks, Madonna and Geena Davis — as Rockford Peaches manager Jimmy Dugan, center fielder Mae Mordabito and catcher Dottie Hinson. The artwork used is similar to previous DVD packaging and similar to promotional posters made for the original release of the film all those years ago.
The DVDs inside apparently include a new feature documenting the history of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League and also the film along with some extras that could be found on previous releases.
You can see all of the printed bonuses in the gallery below.
