What’s buzz-worthy: The Update edition of the Topps baseball brand — the flagship brand for the hobby — caps things on cardboard with a look at the MLB All-Star Game and new faces in new places along with a new slate of cards we’ve seen in the first two series.

Keep reading for more as well as a full gallery of images.

The Basics: The basic set will consist of 300 cards with each card having 11 parallels — Gold (/2,017), Rainbow foil, Vintage (/99), Black (/66), Mother’s Day Hot Pink (/50), Father’s Day Powder Blue (/50), Memorial Day Camo (/25), Clear (/10), Negative, Platinum (1/1) and printing plates. … There will be short-printed cards as well as, a new twist, base card short-printed autograph parallels. … Back for anther run on the insert front are Topps Salute, which will have Red (/25) and 1/1 Platinum parallels, along with Topps Rookie Cup and Untouchables. Each of these sets are found one in every eight hobby packs. Also in play will be a new series of 1987 Topps inserts — these with a focus on rookies, rising stars and traded players (Red and Platinum parallels here, too) — along with an MLB Network set (one per box) also with an autograph version this time around.

The MLB All-Star Game gets a number of card sets in this one with All-Star Stitches autos, dual autos, auto jumbo patches and then unsigned versions — Stitches, jumbo patches, duals and triples. The Autos will be limited to 25 copies or less in most instances with Orange (/10 or less) and Platinum (1/1) parallels. The Relics will have Gold, Orange and Platinum versions in some instances, while the jumbos (/5) duals (/25) and triples (/25) are rarer.

Autograph fans will have a number of sets to chase, too, with Topps Salute autos (Red /5 and 1/1 Platinum parallels), a array of 1987 Topps autos with Glossy (/15) now in the mix with Wood (/10), Ash (/5) and 1/1 Birch. There will be out autos (1/1s), Own the Name Relics (1/1) along with Hank Aaron Award Commemorative patch cards with Gold (/99), Black (/50) Platinum (1/1) and auto parallels for those who have won the award.
