What’s Buzz-worthy: This brand may have gotten the best grades of any product here last year as a new retro-styled release for the NFL — and it’s not far off this year, though there’s one feature on these cards that feels way out of place. It’s gloss. All of the 300 base cards and the inserts are heavily glossed, which feels a bit in contrast to the retro stock that these cards are found on. Other than that, the model of 100 active, 100 retired and 100 rookies (the rookies are definitely shorter than the other two groups) really works. You get a mess of stars in this one with a new but still oldschool design that feels retro and comfortable (though it’s definitely not as strong as last year — and the TTM autograph options here feel lesser with the gloss).  This box was one of the rarer blasters with an autograph (there’s no note of guaranteed hits here) and the exclusive blue-back parallel in this box was Tom Brady. That makes this a good box — and this is a brand this collector will rip more of this season. With hobby boxes priced on the affordable side, this is definitely one to consider for collectors, beginners and those who appreciate the game.
