Father’s Day came a bit early.
Leaf Trading Cards‘ 200-pack run of LaVar Ball inscribed autographs sold out instantly on eBay Wednesday, proving that a big-talking former World League of American Football player turned soon-to-be NBA dad can sell some cardboard.
Each $59.95 pack included one inscribed card from the guy whose entrepreneurial focus and brash statements have come into focus as his son, former UCLA star Lonzo Ball, awaits his name to be called in the NBA Draft next week.
The Bruins’ Ball averaged 14.6 points, 7.6 assists and six rebounds a game this past season, while his dad averaged 2.2 points a game for Washington State back in 1987-88 — his only season there — before spending time on the practice squads of the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers and then time with the London Monarchs of the WLAF.
The 200-card run included a number of different inscriptions, which you can see in the gallery below.
Update: Those opting to flip their unopened packs are already seeing some profits.
