What’s Buzz-worthy: As said in a previous blaster break here, the base set is a simple one with an array of parallels but only one type was found in this box. It turns out those other parallels are quite rare in hobby, too, at one in 505 packs for a Mud and more than 1,000 packs for the others. The inserts here also delivered as expected with there actually being fewer inserts than in the blasters — one of the sets wasn’t here. The ripping experience here is about like the blasters with the only addition being more cards (enough to build the full base set and more) along with a guaranteed auto. This particular auto was a rarer one — a Mold auto /25 that’s one in 475 packs (every third case). That’s a big plus and makes the box but it seems like there should be one kind of oddball insert or other non-basic type of card (some type of diecut or manufactured relic?) to help there be more variety when ripping. This may be more of a standard feel for a non-sports set but it felt like there could have been more — especially when a blaster did include its own exclusive insert set. There are sketch cards, printing plates and more to be found in hobby — they just weren’t here. With sketches one in every three boxes, they’re likely to be in yours. If you’re a fan of this long-running series, then this is one to rip.
