What’s Buzz-worthy: On the rookie front, this was a solid box — it gets an A simply based on the rookies — but it’s nothing like ripping a hobby box of this one where there’s an autograph in every jumbo pack and way, way, way more rookies per pack, too. As said in that previous rip, it’s a 300-card set with the last 100 being new NFL rookies in college action photos but with their new NFL teams noted via logos and color scheme for the cards’ name bars. With strong photos, that works. This box delivered well with a few top rookies and its guaranteed presence of the Xtra Point Blue Spectacular Catch cards that are found in blasters. Blasters will include Hardware Memorabilia cards — helmet cards — in some instances but that was not to be found here. (It would be nice for these to include some type of hit.) To some collectors, there may be too much college cardboard here — so they’ll be feasting on NFL sets to come this season — but if you like the college game and the NFL this one feels well-balanced and a highlight.
