“There’s no ‘i’ in Vynl. because there’s always two of them!”
No, it’s not a typo — and that explains it for the naming of a new line of vinyl figures launching from Funko that’s making its debut at San Diego Comic-Con later this month.
“Funko is proud to introduce Vynl., a brand new line of stylized vinyl collectibles created with pop culture fanatics in mind,” the company said in a statement. “Vynl. will take a new approach to collecting by showcasing the intricate relationships between beloved characters through a playful new aesthetic … every Vynl. release will contain two figures in order to highlight the connection between both characters and play off of their respective storylines.”
Making their debut at SDCC will be Batgirl and Poison Ivy in advance of more toys arriving this summer, according to the company. Three other duos to come will include Freddy Krueger and Jason, Sally and Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas and He-Man & Trapjaw from The Masters of the Universe.
