What’s Buzz-worthy: Bowman Platinum is back once again as a retail-only (Walmart-only) exclusive that’s got plenty of prospecting potential with one rookie helping drive demand — Cody Bellinger — among a hot rookie class. His first in-pack Rookie Cards are found here and this box was saved by his appearance on an insert that’s found one per box. Other than that and a numbered insert, this box seemed average at best as the other RCs here weren’t the biggest names. This brand is found in three formats at retail, a hobby-type of collector’s box that guarantees two autographs, blasters and jumbo packs. The collector’s box is your best bet and we hope to bust one of those here soon to see if that breaks down better than this. In this type of box, autographs start at one in every 66 packs, which is about 40 percent better than last year, with a rainbow in this brand that includes a good amount of parallels between the ink and the non-inked cards. … These packs only include four cards, which seems like a drawback as you get just 32 cards in a blaster. You get at least two base cards per pack and then a prospect and an insert to round things out most of the time. The checklist includes some first-time ink, too, but they weren’t found here so we’ll dive in there if we have a future rip.
