What’s Buzz-worthy: Simplicity and an autograph in every pack. That’s something that would be amazing to see elsewhere and in the sports world and this product is one to consider as a model if you ask me. The 100-card base set focuses on the characters seen in the Who universe and it has just a few parallels (Gold, Green, Purple, Red) and then there are autos of Doctors, modern companions, classic companions, guest stars and recurring cast members and then dual and triple autos (some paralleled). There’s a lot of ink with a lot of TV here — the series has been around since the 1960s — and there’s a touch of the past as well as the present with the new series that began in 2005. These boxes are tiny as there are just four packs in a box but these offer some good punch at $100 or less per box. The biggest names weren’t found here but there was a good amount of rarer cardboard, which felt like a plus. The cards are high-gloss and cleanly printed with very subtle changes between the base cards and autos — a name line and a lightly faded signing area are added on the front, while an authentication statement is added on the back. That means the autos have just as much info on them as the base cards. That’s a plus if you ask me. I’m not all that familiar with the series, but if you are this seems like a no-brainer to try if you’re a fan because the autograph lineup is massive.
