What’s Buzz-worthy: As previously said in a box break here, Bowman Platinum is back once again as a retail-only (Walmart-only) exclusive that’s got plenty of prospecting potential with one rookie helping drive demand — Cody Bellinger — among a hot rookie class. His first in-pack Rookie Cards are found here and this box included three of his cards (all different). … This collector’s box included more cards per pack (five vs. four for blasters) and that helped change the feel quite a bit though you don’t get an Ice parallel pack here so the scope of variety in a rip is actually lowered here but you get more of everything (a plus) and two autographs guaranteed. For $70, it’s a solid rip — and it’s something that the hobby needs more of whether it’s found at retail or hobby. … This brand is found in three formats at retail, this collector’s box, blasters and jumbo packs. This did live up to my gut feeling that these boxes are your best bet — if you can find them. … The checklist includes some first-time ink and some current MLB names you probably know — Andrew Benintendi, Alex Bregman, Aaron Judge, Carlos Correa, Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Dansby Swanson, Bryce Harper, Cody Bellinger, Corey Seager, Mike Trout, Ryon Healy and, you know, all those top prospects people expect in a Bowman brand. The bad news? You only get two autos per box and there are only two of these boxes per tray in Walmart stores. But, here’s a thought … if there are display trays that does mean they should get a refill soon, right? Get hunting!
