What’s Buzz-worthy: This brand treated Buzz well in our previous break this weekend, so here’s another — and it’s a box that delivered very, very well statistically in terms of the ink. How rare is a Gold Refractor here? That’s one in every 4,102 packs — or one in every 411 boxes. (No, this didn’t come from the same store as the other auto box busted here — Buzz went hunting and got lucky.) Had that been an Aaron Judge? It’s about a $1,600 card. Hernandez? Not so much … but a win’s a win when it comes to the stats. … As said in our previous break of this one, with Topps Chrome already hot this year thanks to the arrival of Chrome autos of Judge and Cody Bellinger among a strong rookie crop, this was a fun surprise when hitting the card aisle. For $35, you get more packs and 10 x-Fractors that are only found in these boxes, which are the size of the Bowman Platinum collector’s box. (And, yes, some stores will have a tray for you to know when they’re already gone.) Hits are not a given in these boxes — a basic rookie auto is one in 100 packs, or one in 10 boxes. … A key rookie X-Fractor will get you a decent amount of your money back (at least in the short-term), while you get a good volume of inserts here, too. (Buzz did another — look for that one in our next Buzz 12 in 12 breaks marathon later this month.) Another thing to consider? You’re looking at one in every 20 boxes to land any one particular X-Fractor card in the set — these should have some definite interest when people can’t find them.
